I've tried various beaches in NZ [which work just fine], Fiji, Hawaii, the coast all along the Mediterranean [north side, as far as Turkey], east and west coast USA, and Oz.

As a young bloke, I figured my ideal life would be to live on a beach, designing and building public toilets for local authorities, with just shorts and a T-shirt as possessions.

It wasn't too many years and I found that the amount of time I really wanted to spend lolling around on beaches isn't all that much. A couple of hours at a beach is enough for me these days. Maybe a couple of times a day.

I get a lot more fun taking Hayes for walks up Mount Eden to chat with Korean, Japanese and Chinese tourists who seem to think we are excellent photographic and conversation material. He's a very friendly guy and very good looking so the ladies go nuts over him, liking to have cuddles. I should probably start charging [for his educational fund and for fun].
