And its not just "throwing more money at the problem", but reorganizing government beurocracies. Look at how well the whole Department of Homeland Security reorg has worked out, and how federalizing airport security has solved all of our problems in that area... (end sarcasm) Generally there is often a huge push to DO SOMETHING, even if sometimes doing nothing is better than any other alternative, and many times while something might have to be done it doesn't have to be done by the government, or if it does, it should be carefully decided rather then rushed in to. There are times you have to rush and there are cases where government involvement is needed, but often lobbying groups and politicians act like almost everything is like that.
