My hope is not electing some Democrats, my hope is in the people finally going, 'Oh my god, while I've been shopping everything has been falling apart around me.

Too Early - this is the greatest revelation of the mellenium!!

Watch this commercial - it is a starving russian family who jumps for joy when the pillsbury doughboy shows up with chocolate chip cookies - but then they realize they have run out of milk! HAHA!

I watched this show over the weekend - russians were buying nice clothes and pastries - the show talked about how in the 50's Stalin learned if you just give people nice shopping experiences - you can placate them. These people were pissed about lots of political issues - but they could still buy nice things - so they were pacified into inaction and all they did was whine and complain.

Then Grace tells me we are all rich because she has a wegman's out her front door. Don't you see the REALITY?? Give people some nice shopping - and you can stick them any other way you want - Commie china just figuring this out I guess. All orwell needed in 1984 was some nice shopping malls!

Look my man, I challenge you to go to any shopping mall and find that people care more about global issues over the next big sale! I was in some pretty poverty stricken places in mexico - but they weren't far from massive shopping malls and this seemed to placate them. You sit there and try to talk to them about a plethora of issues and I will tell them there is free bourbon chicken down at the food court and you will lose your audience of listeners - HAHA!

There was an old doctor who episode with tom baker - the aliens couldn't take over mankind in a war - so they got mankind hooked on debt and taxes and shopping and ruled the earth!

I have said it a MILLION times - when General Chen shows me oprah saying to stop shopping, cancel the credit cards, turn off TV and go buy shiny metal - then I think shiny metal will be a good investment - until I see Oprah tell her viewers to RISE UP and take notice of the world around them and DEMAND change from the politicians - then we will have a shift. Until Oprah starts getting really PISSED OFF about a great number of things - we are not going to have fundamental change. Oprah is my future indicator for consumerism and its followers. We are a long way from that. I see way too many commercials on CNBC where a daughter wants to borrow 80 bucks from her dad for a new pair of designer jeans and some girl is a shopaholic since birth looking for the newest shoe sale and upset the school nurse wore white on labor day - how unfashionable!!

I see indian doctors that used to stay home on friday and read science journals go out shopping on fridays and hit the big malls and restaurants - but this is progress eh? hehe
