Eco systems are far too complex to fully understand exactly what's going on unfortunately. One can hardly blame the so called "eco nuts" for noticing carnage in nature but not being able to scientifically describe cause and effect.... since no one else can either. OTOH, by definition they 'cry wolf' sometimes, so it's hard to blame those who think mother nature will simply take care of it all either. IMHO it's best to use caution and err on the side of the 'greens' and AGAINST the side of "full employment & GNP". Why? Our society seems out of control, any 'check' on it for a period of time probably won't hurt. BTWFDIK... opinions are cheap. DAK
