"Former first lady Barbara Bush gave relief money to a hurricane relief fund on the condition that it be spent to buy educational software from her son Neil's company."

Isn't this the same as donating software that she paid for to the relief fund to be given freely to schools? It makes bad PR, but it's essentially a gift (paid by her) of software developed by her son's company. Don't seem so bad to me. And I'm sure the school's don't have to use the software if they think it's not helpful.

The relief fund was set up to help people who were badly effected by the hurricane. While I think educational software is great, many of these people don't have a home, let alone a computer. As for donating it to the schools, it would be great if Neil Bush wanted to make such a generous gesture but educational software is not the priority for hurricane evacuees........at least that's not what they are telling us. Don't you get any of the footage from the Gulf states?
