Hardly brushed off; I was puzzled from the outset but kept offering explanations. I gather you aren't interested in them.

One more shot, contrary to my earlier post. If you take your cut into the problem, then there are,as you maintain, obviously no increased fiscal costs. But that's precisely the problem. Since the program was funded at only minimal levels, the dollars to teach it have to come from other programs. You increase the dollars for reading and math remediation, you decrease the dollars for history, art, music, geography, social studies, actually, any other part of the curriculum.

That's the loss. And a serious one. I gather you don't consider that a loss. I do.
