What so many people forget is that the Social Security morass is not just hurting us, it is an attempt to saddle our grandchildren with overwhelming debt.

I can tell you that if my father went on a drunken spending spree and borrowed to finance it, I would not be eager to repay his debts. Why would our grandchildren feel compelled to finance the lifestyles of us when they will be able to clearly see that we are responsible for our own financial failure?

If we don't solve the Social Security problem, there will be a lot of human misery. Democrats can lay claim to being the party that promotes forced poverty.
