Main Entry: erode
Pronunciation: i-'rOd
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): erod·ed; erod·ing
Etymology: Latin erodere to eat away, from e- + rodere to gnaw -- more at RODENT
transitive senses
1 : to diminish or destroy by degrees: a : to eat into or away by slow destruction of substance (as by acid, infection, or cancer) b : to wear away by the action of water, wind, or glacial ice c : to cause to deteriorate or disappear as if by eating or wearing away <inflation eroding buying power>
2 : to produce or form by eroding <glaciers erode U-shaped valleys>

More doublespeak......to erode is to lose......

BDS inspired nonsense.

"Did I saw there WAS a loss? No. I said that the erosion of our CONSTITUTIONAL FREEDOMS was worth dying for. I did not say there had been one. I'm not sure there has been. I think there may have been, but I'm not an expert in con law, and I'll need to continue to read all the experts in order to figure this out."

I had not seen this before. So you accept that the wiretapping may or may not be legal and that as long as its in force and its legality is tbd, you will avail yourself of the information that comes from the wiretapping and thus you would save your kids in my hypothetical scenario. I thought that in other posts you said that you thought it was illegal and that you wouldnt avail yourself of the info. Perhaps i was wrong or perhaps you changed your view subtlely. No matter, until the issue is settled we all get to use the results. If it becomes settled against bush, then we wont. Personally i am inclined to believe its legal and i think that bush should accept some more congressfolks in the loop. Diane Feinstein said she thought it was an "impressive program". I would think that you would trust her judgement as least as much as Feingold (who may be right--i am not conlaw expert either). Mike
