You believe the NSA is spying only on terrorists? Then you disagree with Alberto Gonzales, who wrote the senate to speficially remove that claim. And if the NSA is only spying on terrorists and their pals, they would have no problem whatsoever getting FISA warrants immediately. So why are Bushies avoiding FISA at all costs, intentionally breaking the law, but trying to cover it up and lie about it? Who are the Bushies really spying on? The press? The judicial branch? Lawyers? Peace groups? Rival politicians? The UN? Competitors of their lobbyist pals? The internet? This very thread? All of the above? My guess, Bushies are defining "terrorists" as anyone who disagrees with them on any level, even people who are 100% right. You be the judge. Would you trust Bushies to tell us the truth after all the lying and cheating they've done? If so, you're a big sucker.

Peter Bergen had a convincing op ed piece in today's NYTimes about lack of any dealing between saddam and al q. Right wing-nuts who try to use this will further isolate themselves from the evolving position of the american people. Cheney leads the charge on this one--what he should do is lead the charge to a new position as head of the NRA. Cheney and Rummy are caricatures of the competent men we once though they were. Card just resigned--time for rummy and cheney has come. Hell, i would even take LBJ, Rusk and MacNamara or Nixon, Haldeman and Ehrlichman over this gang. Note: I didnt include Bush--i still have some hope that he will go to new folks but that hope fades every day.
