Bush-Cheney were obsessed with invading Iraq. Probably because both Halliburton and Bush's favorite oil companies would get richer that way, and because it was an easy invasion victory, and because an election or two could be stolen that way.

9-11 was a great gift for Bush-Cheney. They ignored the warnings of it (intentionally?), then claimed credit for avenging it. But in reality they avenged very little. They let Osama Bin Lauden go and attacked someone unconnected to 9-11 instead. And now we're in the most expensive quagmire in US history, and Bush admits there's no end in sight. Just stay the course. Better for Halliburton and Exxon. and better for Islamic extremism which is twice as strong as it was in 2000.
