The 'deficits don't matter' crowd lies. After all, in that case, why not borrow $100 trillion?

Why not live high on the hog that way?

That crowd can never answer that question because being a nation of net spenders will always lead to disaster.

IMO, the only thing it would take is for everyone to shut off their media for a month. Then everyone will wonder why they need another pair of sneaks or a new PC when what they have already works just fine.
