One summer in high school I worked as a roofer, and made enough to buy myself a motorcycle. Today, in Austin, TX. where I grew up, all the roofers are hispanic, most illegal, and this is true in MANY parts of the country. As are all the carpenters, tilesetters, stoneworkers - the entire construction profession, save management. In my youth, those were sought after, good paying jobs for those without an education. As our factory jobs are ALREADY going to Mexico and China, unless we're going to put EVERYONE through college we just really can't afford illegals here.
