Geographic priorities in public policy are a fact of life. Those in the northeast might want more terrorism protection, those in the south more hurricane relief, and those in Cal more earthquake/mudslide/fire assistance. While there may be empathy, there is little question that one group cannot possibly feel the pain of the others.
