if you wanted to have any influence in your community you had to be a Mason That's a chicken and egg problem. Was it that you had to be a Mason, or that the influential men in the community were invited to be Masons? Not being a conspiracy theorist, I believe the latter. My father is a Mason, for purposes of full disclosure. As far as I know, he hasn't learned the secrets of ruling the planet yet. :P Derek
