Sandeep on the other thread says these patents aren't any good, but anyway the wifi supported by ads thing has been true for a while. Union square has it, why don't you check it out and report back after your next trip to Neiman Marcus? I think GOOG wants the dark fiber to avoid the 2-tier internet which is such incredible carrier BS. I hope GOOG drives these carriers under. These arcane carriers are the reason US internet penetration is lower than asia even though we invented the internet. I am certain SBC is trying to come up with a whole series of "packages" to charge you for your internet use PER QUERY/Hits. The FCC is in bed with these dinosaurs too which would have never happened under Clinton.
