Amazing. We have been pricing building a new home up here in Canuckistan and have come to the same conclusion. No value. Instead, we have just today decided to think about spending the winters somewhere warm. We have a friend that spends about 4 months of the year in Honolulu. His condo is about $1100 per MONTH. Not that great a place, but you're outside most of the time any way. I could go for a place for double that cost and be very happy for 3-4 months. I must say, however, it is getting increasingly more difficult to convince the wife that this housing trend is not sustainable when it just keeps 'sustaining'. :^)
