That's true in many places in the world... and we're not going to change it overnight. Look at what a succession of good Presidential policy did in the former Soviet Union. The ONLY reason we are mucking around with war in Iraq is because of the oil (and an idiot President). You want to confront Islam? I want to ignore it... and slowly work towards reform by setting an example, giving incentives for good behaviour. Sending in the troops sets exactly the wrong example, "might is right", and gives ammunition to the extremists. The carrot works, the stick doesn't. John

Yes, I do remember. However, Islam is making things worse, not better. They simply don't share our beliefs. What you say are American beliefs and what the gov't does are two different things. That's the point others of us on the thread are trying to make to you. Except for your hatred of Muslims, I think many of us are on the same page as you are. However, the problem is the American gov't. Its on its own page.
