OT/Ya know... the whole bubble thing in RE... well, here in LA about five years ago, I said to Mrs. Freep about a house "nah, we shouldn't buy it." It has come back on the market at DOUBLE the price we looked at it. Yes, we may have a bubble, but there is no historical LA perspective for the prices falling 50%, so how many people would really be impacted at this point by the bubble popping? And if it's not so many, won't that slow the popping? And if people bought their homes to LIVE in and can pay the mortgage as opposed to speculating in houses....

Ah well, this argument is older than Freeplet at this point!
