I dont listen to what bush says. Yes you are right--on paper we disrupt the iraqi democratic process to an extent but we are also undoing a pact with the devil that the current pm entered into which traded dem ideals for al sadr support and a blank check for him to kill sunnis. Democracy without federalism in iraq wont work so in a sense we are taking a last stab at getting it back on course. It may be too late.

The numbers will certainly go down, but I expect we will have a military presence in Iraq for decades.
