re: Instead of accusing teachers, try to figure out why so many kids are so deficient in this country.

This might be stupid, but I wonder if "good" teachers are really all that important. I had teachers I thought were good, and teachers I thought were bad... but in the end I learned about the same in all the classes.

I think it depends on the grade.......primary school? I don't think it makes that much difference. Starting with middle school and going up, I think it makes considerable difference the older a kid gets. By college, it can make the difference between skipping class and going.

I had a professor second semester of my senior year........the professor had the reputation of being good. Her class filled up fast even though it was an 8 o'clock..........a no-no for second semester seniors at my school. I would say she had 98% attendence thoughout the semester......it was amazing. She was that good! So yeah, I think it makes a difference depending on the grade and the age of the student. Understand that "good" includes captivating your audience and keeping their interest level high.
