09:30 GOOG Google: Amtech comments on GOOG offering (289.23 -5.76) -Update-

Amtech notes that GOOG already has $8 bln in cash and is expected to generate ~$1.5B in free cash. Adding to an already sizeable cash position and secretive mgmt will raise concern on use of proceeds. They believe building and/or buying networks is becoming a higher priority as the net neutrality debate is looking less favorable for "edgers". Firm thinks this would lower the margin and cash flow profile and be negative for the stock for at least the intermediate term. They say other possibilities include international expansion or a more aggressive move to bridge traditional media. They say that whatever GOOG's plans may be they are certainly thinking big. They note that not all moves outside the co's core competency have gone well to date and that any large move would increase the risk profile of the stock.
