Interesting take. Declare victory and bug out. It may in the end become the policy but i dont buy your three step solution as somehow being good enough to have gone in in the first place. mike

i have to say i agree with you , art... i don't think democracy can be 'conferred' upon its recipients... i admit to having had high hopes for the iragis taking the ball and running with it once delivered from the oppression of the hussein dictatorship... however.... the more i see of how the sectarian violence is playing out, the more i am convinced that religious bigotry is more important to the players than true human rights and freedom... did you see what was happening with the fellow in afghanistan who converted to 'christianity'... a death sentence.. and we, their liberators....avert our eyes and give cover to those who skirt the issue by implying the man is 'incompetent' truly unacceptable... sadly, it does appear to me that some frankly do not DESERVE the gift of democracy bestowed upon them fascism seems to be their lot in life
