<The SMH just closed the gap. It should be free now to trade higher on the day>

And the DIA approximated the pre-Fed level, so it should be dumping per the Algo.

The Nasdaq comp finally broke above resistance but the QQQQ has yet to break above it's previous high over 43. Until we get confirmation by the QQQQ's that this rally will have legs, one should be cautious.

The FED has implied that the economy is doing just fine, since they feel they can continue to raise rates without derailing the hard fought progress. I think that's what we saw yesterday, the market rally was do to the fact the FED sees a stronger US economy then the press and analysts have been seeing or spouting.

With a few notable exceptions, semiconductor stocks have been in a rising tide that's lifted all boats. Certainly many of the small and micro caps that I follow have been giving stellar returns. Many of the down and out stocks from a few years ago have come back to life (from a percentage gain point of view). If you held on the way down, the rises off the bottom haven't recovered all the losses but if you bought anywhere along the bottom you've had great success.

We had a very nice boost for the SMH today coming from the TXN gap up - which was a result of the Nokia announcement lifting mobile phone sales for this year. It's nice to get "lucky" once in a while.:)

Unfortunately, AMAT and INTC don't want to join in the party. A lot depends on those 2 stocks. If TXN stays strong, and AMAT/INTC would start a move upward, that would be very positive for SMH. As far as a target price is concerned, I am hoping for something above 38 and close to 39.
