I pretty much agree with Weisberg's idea that fundamentalist influence on politics has peaked (with the Schiavo affair), though I wouldn't say that religious extremism is headed for a demise. The influence of moralists on our politics rises and falls in cycles of many years. Most of the hot political issues at the moment (civil liberties, immigration, war, etc) are typically ones in which the religious right is either uninterested or divided.

Watch this video - red state road trip - you will see who put Bush into Office - I dont think they have gotten much smarter over the past few years.

Bush is a good christian man! He is godly, he even talks to God - Mish told me so.

One woman in the video says - those people fought before Jesus was born, they will fight til Jesus comes back - HAHA!
