Currently we have an ownership society - we have systems and gubbments and such that will only reward you if you produce something - in this type of system a non producing baby will starve to death even though food is plentiful.

er, uh....exactly what do babies "produce" except the obvious?

very very poor analogy...babies don't produce....they COST

or have you never raised one?

the only time in our history when 'babies produced' was when man lived by the labor of his hands, lots of babies growing into ready farm hands and wood choppers

we live in a technological age where knowledge is power and money....so unless you can bring into the world an extremely bright (thank god i did <vbg>) baby who will grow into adulthood AND be willing to support his/her old fart of a parent...bringing babies into the picture isn't a winning proposition economically (at least as our economic reality is structured today)

quite the contrary...

oh wait....

but did you mean masses of immigrant SS payers to support you, the old fart in his blissful retirement?

i think the little secret that is out and becoming political is that the so called SS paying mexkun workers are taking out more than they are paying in....therefore that cost/bennie analysis don't hunt

when you see hundreds of thousands of mexkun 'workers' in LA waving nationalistic flags for THEIR bennies....

the tipping point politically arrived in HDTV for all to see

btw....

does anyone really care what bono or gates does with their private money guilt trip?

i don't think so
