and yes....

there is desert and there is DESERT....

some of the most beautiful views and acreage i've seen is in the high desert....(especially that which borders national parks)

i think that land will appreciate well...the demographics still support that view, imo....not to say that there are not developers who have swarmed in with marginal land and chintzy houses at inflated prices that will suffer eventually
