According to the Monte and Harrison Hieb link..

Of the 186 billion tons of CO2 that enter earth's atmosphere each year from all sources, only 6 billion tons are from human activity. Approximately 90 billion tons come from biologic activity in earth's oceans and another 90 billion tons from such sources as volcanoes and decaying land plants.

If the equation of Carbon Dioxide absorbed was "steady state" this would be the same amount absorbed by the plants and Oceans each year. Although carbon dioxide levels are increasing, this figure would be approximately accurate.

I say temperature and CO2 levels are related because you can see the correlation in the graphs as shown here..

Although the correlation is only visual, I expect a full mathematical statistical measurement would show a close and probable relationship between temperature and CO2 levels.
