RE:"How many times have you heard that the issue of illegal immigration is one of race? How many times have you seen politicians cower from taking action for fear of being branded a racist?"

You mean, how many times a day?

I'm waiting for the politician who will punch through the race card and enforce the law of the land. Will they please stand up!

Ted, That's the wrong takeaway........and I am surprised you don't know it. Maybe its because you are too new to the whole issue.....not legal but illegal immigration.

Good post, but you completely missed my point. How many times have you heard that the issue of illegal immigration is one of race? How many times have you seen politicians cower from taking action for fear of being branded a racist?

The pro illegal immigration crowd plays the race card over and over again because it works. You can thank "political correctness" for inventing the race card in the first place.

I just posted nearly the same thing to McMannis but I see it a little differently. There is a whole segment of Congress and their constituents who favor illegal immigration because it works for them financially. So its very easy for them to 'shudder' when the race card is play and back down.......the race card gets them off the hook. I watched the game played in both CA and on the national level the whole time I lived in CA.

Trust me, the fear of being branded racist is secondary to the real issue..........its all about the money.
