to make 3G/user cheaper it is necessary to make the industry understand two points wqhere they can build with lower prices and develop applications should be extremely powerful to heighten potential consumers' awareness.

For instance you'd need a gadget that would be able to use as remote control, door opener, security device, pay medium.

Something that would not be a single-purpose device. Anything that you need to sell today, needs to be triple used device.

See how printer is becoming a do-all machine.

The Nokia's of this world are interested to sell things that other dedicated eveices do ewith better quality. This will fail.

To build cheaper, the radio base stations should be unobtrusive, cheap devices that could be deployed quickly with very little planning. Today we build expensive and lots of planning.

Unless those two points are executed there won't be 3G for real.

I think the Chinese will come out with this solution.
