The problem with victories is they are temporary. We accomplished the three prong goal of this conflict over a year ago. Withdrawing at the point would have given us the victory, but probably plunged Iraq into civil war. Withdrawing today MIGHT still give us the victory, but plunge Iraq into civil war. Withdrawing in ten years WILL NOT give us the victory, but it will still plunge Iraq into civil war.

So, they will have a civil war no matter when we get out. After all, they've been having civil wars in that region for centuries, what makes anyone think we can prevent the inevitable?
