I've read that a GM chapter 11 would throw the bonds markets for a loop... that GM paper and derivatives are everywhere. It would be a real mess.

expect GM incl. Delphi to go the same avenue as the large airlines. Chapter 11, get rid of people and reneg with the others and eventually emerged back in better shape.
