You can only have dual-tuners on Tivo's which record directly off a digital signal. All analog-source Tivo's are single tuner (or else if someone would make a dual-tuner, it would essentially be 2-Tivo's-in-1 box).

I would think Tivo would have a patent on their "pause live TV" process. This would be one of the most, if not the most, valuable, since this is the crux of what makes a DVR most useful. If Tivo had all the right patents and had enough resources to defend them, they would be sitting rich and pretty, instead of poor and almost out of business.

I thought the Humax box had dual tuners, but I could be wrong.

So did I, but when my Humax is recording on channel A and I go to watch channel B it stops recording channel A.

I haven't seen an article that talks about the exact patent that they are defending; so you have a link?

It was in IBD Tuesday or Wednesday. I read it in the library.
