I don't think they want to be to quick to act. High energy prices IMO keep the economy from overheating. In theory, if the economy slows. So will energy prices. Due to lower demand.

Bernanke will soon be faced with the choice of saving the US Dollar with a high interest regime and losing the US economy or saving the US by not defending the US Dollar at all.
