"What they do is support the conclusion in the report, which we made in the last couple of years, that the regime had the intention of building and rebuilding weapons of mass destruction, when circumstances permitted." I understand you find the connections outlined in your post a justification for the war we are currently fighting. I do not. I find Iraq to have been contained enough, and you do not. I do not find the Al Qaeda links as important as you do. Most governments in the ME have some links to AQ, whether through the actual government, or through shadow elements of the government- it's in the best interest of governments in the ME to have some contact with AQ. You could look at Iran (or SA, or ...fill in the blank) and find MUCH more credible links to AQ- but we didn't invade Iran. Unforunately for Saddam, he was seen as an apostate by AQ. I can imagine him tap dancing with propaganda to make AQ take him off the radar screen as a target, or to make his own population see him as less of an apostate, but I don't see him letting these guys infiltrate his country- because they were a danger to him. "went to Iraq and Iran" seeking support...." Doesn't surprise me at all if they asked. It would surprise me if Saddam helped them in any way that would slit his own throat. Most countries think about terrorism and getting rid of leaders they don't like. Heck, the Us actually just did it in Iraq. But until there is actually some large action, I don't think you can go to war. It is not, imo, a good idea to go to war and then hope you can find a reason for it later. I grant you, you've tried really really hard to justify an invasion for Iraq- and proof for it not being contained- but I just don't agree with your conclusions. Unfortunately none of the data justifies a war, imo, AND much of it wasn't even known at the time we went to war- so as I said, no cause for war at the time, no cause now, and being in the position of scrambling around and hoping you find a justification is not a good place to be. It would be nice if you could keep things like "BDS" out of your posts. I don't think it helps your argument any. As I said previously, I don't see why you waste your time posting to me if you just want to bond with people who already agree with you. Surely shorter posts with the insults right up front could do that, rather than posting a long post that looks substantive and then finishes up with mere insults. It's very disappointing. And I really won't put up with it much longer. Post your material without insults, or I will ignore you as I have done in the past. Your posts are not worth putting up with insults.
