re: I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to hit a button on my DVD players and want to quickly and graphically see how far I am into a movie.

The "TiVo moment" for me is when I'm driving and listening to the radio, and I miss something that someone says... I always want to rewind and play it again. And of course in the movie theatre I feel like I should be able to rewind the movies.

For aspects of the "trickplay" bar, the green status bar that shows where you are in the video stream when you use the remote control. Another UI innovation.

Has Windows Media Center worked around this patent by employing a BLUE status bar? Clever bastards...
