Market Scan EMC Well-Positioned To Capitalize On Robust Demand Kate DuBose Tomassi, 03.31.06, 3:22 PM ET Citing softness in EMC's business in North America, Banc of America Securities analyst Keith Bachman reduced first-quarter and full-year 2006 revenue estimates on shares of the information infrastructure provider. The analyst slightly reduced first-quarter and calendar year 2006 revenue estimates on EMC (nyse: EMC - news - people ) shares to $2.52 billion and $10.94 billion, respectively, from $2.56 billion and $11.04 billion. He maintained earnings-per-share estimates for the same of 14 cents and 64 cents. The analyst maintained a rating of "buy" and reiterated a target price of $15.25 on EMC shares. "As we look to 2006, we believe that demand trends look robust . . . and we believe that EMC is the best positioned to capitalize on such trends," the research analyst said. The company is one of the firm's top picks in the enterprise hardware sector. Its other top pick is Hewlett-Packard (nyse: HPQ - news - people ), rated "buy" with a $36 target price.
