Hello Russ, <<China collapse>>

I figure China collapsed already, for the last 300 minus 25 years.

China has been around for 4703 years by the lunar calendar, and we will see it die off now, of all things because of environmental degradation that is no worse than Pittsburg once was, and crony capitalism that supposedly derailed SEAsia and NEAsia a few years ago, that hits LatAm every 10 years?

The IMF, the same geniuses that prescribed the cure that Korea first followed than not, to save themselves, and the Malaysians refused to heed, to do same?

Crony capitalism is a direct result of capitalism, as in A takes care of B and B takes care A.

The issue was debt, each and every time, as in what happened leading up to the USA S&L crisis, as in what is happening now.

I would have thought the idea that crony capitalism is not inherent to capitalism is an idea already wasted by post Asian Financial Storm drama that is Enron and Worldcom, and that will be housing bubble implosion. I guess not altogether yet.

As far as debt goes, China's debt is ... of gentle proportions, as long as one measures GDP by onces of platinum and tons of steel, as opposed to science fiction accounting denominated in fiat money.

I trust environmental this and that is merely and just a phase, to satisfy a 300 year pent-up demand. It is self-correcting, intuitively obvious to the most casual of passing observers, unless one does not believe in capitalism and market, crony or not.

Perhaps?

Did you see, on your trip, the absolute wild dynamism and chaos that is China, where people work, save, learn, educate, and hold to family values of old? The folks are going to collapse as a society as a result? Is that how justice works in your view?

If yes, as in you saw the dynamism that is chas, do you suppose that such dynamism will create its own solutions in due course, and the solutions will be astounding?

If not, then you must have missed the signs, and interpret the chaos to be simply chaos.

China is forever at the precipice of chaotic disaster, but, by and by, in the main, things are working for the better.

Both Burma and New Zealand are free from crony capitalism and environmental degredation, and neither will take the inhabitants of planet earth into the next phase of development.

I think Darwin was correct, nature finds a way, and law of the jungle builds character.

Impose man's law, then we get Singapore and Sarbane & Oxley. The Singaporeans will also not lead us forward in the big picture. S&O will not do.

Chugs, J
