>> The shift afoot now in most all apps, consumer and business is the hosted model which relegates the PC operating system to more menial tasks.

I am not seeing it at all. AMD Turion based computers are supposedly preferred because they are Vista-ready. To take advantage of Vista (or even run it) one needs a powerful PC with lots of memory. And of course powerful apps also. So one can't say "free ad-based buggy spy-ware-laden apps will dominate", while consumers are buying over-powered PC's so they are ready for the coming set of expensive wintel-based apps.

<< The best servers are AMD servers, they run GOOG and others.

Only if "best" is defined as able to run x-86 PC apps. As far as "they run goog", any duron or celeron runs goog. That's not a distinguishing characteristic.

>> This is probably the largest really huge paradigm shift I have been through as an investor

I'm just blind to it. Not saying it is not there.

>> But the PC OS and PC in general are losing their sheen in favor of the big datacenter again.

This argues for a de-emphasizing, and commoditizing of PC's. Yet, AMD chips are supposedly gaining because of their performance. A contradiction that I don't pretend to understand. But it is still there.
