Apple lost marketshare last quarter, and will lose more this quarter.

Well to me, "office pc" marketshare is a mindless statistic. The problem is those marketshare figures don't have any value associated except number of units. Nothing about dollars spent, mindshare or trend.

The "office pc" that runs spreadsheets and word processing is dead, mature, commoditized. Sure more and more computers are sold to do this just like more and more people got telephones in the early 1900s but the office pc biz is a commodity. Its meaningless. What matters is what is the growth area today, who is dominating and where are people willing to spend money.
