All the good things happening out there will mean nothing if the unity government doesn't come together. Why does no one at a high level seem to think that separating Iraq into three countries along sectarian lines is such a bad idea. At least Kurdistan would likely peaceful. It would be tough to divide the Shias and Sunnis smoothly, but if the alternative is that they are going to kill each other in a single country, why not give three separate countries a go?
