It's so clear. The things we hold dear are quite fragile.

At this time there are valid questions being raised with respect to whose interests our "elected" representatives are actually promoting. The choices are first, the voters whose votes placed them in office or, second, the special interest groups whose money bought the advertising and marketing expertise that influenced those votes.

Of course the special interests also have the advantage of using the leverage of those after-office jobs with the big paychecks to convince the elected representative to "play ball."

Lately it appears that some special interest groups have found even more direct methods of awarding their friendly elected officials.

There is a continuing struggle to control the vast power of the state and the fight for freedom and a just and working democracy is never won. The battle to remain free and live in a tolerant land of individual freedoms has to be fought every generation. Ed
