It happened with the semiconductor manufacturing plants in '98.

It happened with the power generation sector in 2001.

I felt them both.

History books say that in happened with the railroads circa 1870.

Same with domestic crude production around 1932.

It happened with domestic natural gas drilling in 1981.

High prices attract increased production - across all sectors.

Any tie in of housing busts to the discounting mechanism of the stock market that you are aware of?

Both collapsed with the 1987 stock market crash and came down again one more time in late 1990. Shouldn't we be seeing some signs in financials by now if this coming RE bust was going to be so devastating for the overall economy?
