"Unless AMD at least holds onto these market share gains, the threat of Intel regrouping by 2007 is very real."

What I didn't detail is that AMD will still be increasing market share in >2 socket servers, an area where Intel won't be competing effectively for 18 months or more. AMD might lose a little market share for desktops, and on the high end where it hurts the most. But servers have a much higher margin and the volume is almost as high. And they look to have an opportunity with notebooks.

"Your opinion on the person that offered an estimate of .92 for 2006, but has 2007 at .50...what's up with that?"

I think he has drunk way too much of the Kool Aid. Estimates like this assume that Intel has awakened and the market is waiting breathlessly for it to crush AMD. That ain't gonna happen. Intel let AMD slip out from under their thumb and getting them back will be very hard. It certainly won't happen in a couple of quarters. The only way that AMD will make only $0.92(2006) and $0.50(2007) is if the PC market has a catastrophic melt down.
