I agree that nothing much will be done. I'm still thinking that it's good that it's being discussed, though, even if most of the discussion isn't very incisive. I'm tired of all the ignorant and dismissive name-calling, though, like that piece you posted earlier that called Dobbs "nativist." I've been awake in the wee small hours when only Dobbs is on TV to know that he's not averse to immigration or immigrants. I responded to a blog yesterday that said "only a fool or a nativist proposes a 700-mile fence along a peaceful border." So much easier to dismiss with a name than to try to understand.
