hs2, mas - Actually, Charlie said double the fp units, about 1.5 times the performance. I don't know that I've heard him mention L3, though it's been rumored.

AMD have consistently said that they will use an L3 in their new core. The petaflop computer will only be a semi-peta computer if K8L only has 2 Flops/cycle ;-). I think it's a good thing it is the only 65nm product, it's needed !

hs2 - put 2 and 2 together. Chartered will make the dumb shrink long before end of 2006. This removes the risk from starting Fab36 with the more advanced K8L.

Bad news? LOL. Yeah, right. And the "K8L" is a dumb shrink? No, I don't think so. You don't change the name of the architecture for a dumb shrink.
