As I recall that coincided with one of his posts on Ace's and another article that said that Conroe would be lacking FP performance, which obviously, was not true. From all I read, there's no reason to believe that K8L will have any more FP performance than Conroe. Actually, I have a hard time believing Charlie on this one, he seems very angry about Conroe stepping on AMD's toes (it might be that Intel blindsided him on Conroe, I'm thinking). You might note the extreme enthusiasm on websites about Conroe performance, it's pretty amazing. See the recent Super PI 21 sec result. Smooth
