They wouldnt be doing their job if they didnt plan for contingencies. This is a chess match going on. Iran rattled sabres all last week. The thrust of their sabre rattling is that "we can hit israel and to a lesser extent europe." Trying to buy iran off, is not going to be easy. They will have to give up nukes and their current president. Existing limitations would have to be lifted in return especially by the US. Some type of moderated position on israel and palestine and iraq will be required as well. It's not impossible and the iraqi talks between the US and Iran could be a good first step in the process.

The article is from the UK Telegraph. Europe is the entity that should be very afraid that Iran will indeed have or be able to get nukes. Europe is closer to Iran than the US. And most of Europe has no defenses at all. They have chosen to subsidize their citizens with cradle to grave welfare and to do nothing much about any defensive weapons.

After all the horrible things many in the US and the world have said about GWB, the Administration, and the US in general, hopefully, someone else but the US will take care of the Iranian problem.

The idiots who want the first strike to be made by who ever chooses to send a nuke our way, should have their own way.

Maybe the nuke will visit their own city first.
