My favorite 'steak' is a 5 lb. or more prime tenderloin roast done medium rare with an olive oil and coarsely ground black pepper rub.

Yowza!

I accompany it with fresh asparagus grilled in olive oil with a sprinkling of lime, coarse ground black pepper and sea salt.

I use a good ciabbata for the bread course.

Also a tossed salad with spring green mixture, lots of tomatoes, big crunchy croutons, and whatever dressing suits my fancy that day.

Strong [probably more carcinogenic than the meat] French roast, and the best red wine I have are the drinks.

For dessert, ice cream or some sort of a rhubarb crisp, if rhubarb is available.

Then, a very stinky Macanudo, preferably aged since 1997, and a single malt, preferably the 18 year old Macallan.

How can such a source of pleasure be bad? Not that I do this every day, perhaps 4 or 5 times a year.
