I love the rich variety and texture of different languages around the world.

I like languages, too. If I didn't, I wouldn't have studied so many of them. But I've gotten over it. The systems analyst in me likes efficiency too much. I wouldn't want to wipe out other languages. I just want a universal language plus local/artsy languages rather than a whole bunch of languages of equal standing. That universal language doesn't have to be English although that seems to be happening naturally. Esperanto never cut it. (I studied Esperanto briefly, too. Forgot all about it.)
