I think Bush did what he felt he could politically get away with. He overthrew Saddam because we had the moral and legal authority to do so (under UNSC 1441). But the bigger plan, as he's discussed, is to use the Iraqi "experiment" as a wedge against the Islamo-Fascists, in order to throw them off of their momentum and to undermine their cause amongst Muslims. No longer can the Muslim world look at the Islamo-Fascists as leaders who only want to kill Westerners and restore the "former glory" of Islamic empire. The war in Iraq has shown Muslims around the world that Islamo-Fascism will seek to kill them as well, should they get the chance. Thus, is it any wonder that Arab governments throughout the region are preparing themselves to have to make a deal with the Islamo-Fascists as the liberal left undermines the cause of democratic reform in their region? Don't rely upon me, a simple non-Arab American... Rely upon the writings of Muslim political analysts.Message 22315401 And look at the words of Ahmadinejad and his political advisors. Read what THEY HAVE TO SAY about their strategy in the Mid-East.. Do you think they are just blowing smoke? Do you think they don't really plan on following through with their agenda?? And so what if Bush's plan did not perform as planned. That doesn't eliminate or nullify the threat, or the force of the words by the leaders of Iran. You can blame Bush for possibly not foreseeing the current situation in Iraq transpiring, and maybe rightly so.. But will you be as eager to have me criticize you for failing to see what transpires if we fail to maintain a vigorous effort to bring reform to that region? Wouldn't that be just as grievous an error on your part as what you accuse Bush of in Iraq?? Think it over Sam... Think it over real hard, and then read that article again and see if the liberal bashing of US policy in the Mid-East is achieving positive results. Hawk
